1911 Ninja Yuubi Maki-e Tsuki Fountain pen by Sailor – Limited edition

As a tribute to the ninjas who were employed, from the Muromachi period to the Edo period (1336-1868), by feudal lords at war in various regions, Sailor has created a magnificent series of four 1911 fountain pens. The combatants used weapons such as swords, shurikens and makibishi. The brand has represented them in a maki-e work worthy of the greatest Japanese lacquer masters. It spent over a year working on the drawings to achieve a result that was realistic and not caricatured.

On a dark grey transparent resin base, the 1911 Tsuki features a ninja in action, armed with his weapon. The fountain pen’s trims are covered in black iron plating. Of particular note is the magnificent central ring at the bottom of the cap, engraved with the brand name, among other things.

The nib

The 21-carat gold nib is covered with black iron plating. It is superbly engraved and available in three sizes: F, MF and M.
