#3776 Pure Gold Zogan Sakura fountain pen from Platinum
What is immediately appealing about the #3776 Pure Gold Zogan Sakura is the contrast between the matte black brushed resin and the brightness of the ornament on the cap central band. The latter was made using one of the damascene techniques, which consists of setting a pure gold (copper or silver) wire on an iron (or steel) surface after chiselling it. In Japan, this technique, which dates back 400 years, is called Higo Zogan. This meticulous work and the combination of these two metals offer a beautiful relief rendering: the sakura flowers, the hearts and the two rings on either side dress the fountain pen with splendour. The clip is gold plated on a beryllium copper base.
When you remove the cap, you are amazed by the shiny resin section that you would not expect. It contrasts beautifully with the matte barrel. Note the metal section threading, illustrating the seriousness of the Japanese brand.
The nib is made of 14 carat gold. It is beautifully engraved, notably with #3776, a number chosen as a tribute to Mount Fuji, which rises to 3776 meters. It is available in three sizes: F, M and B. The model comes with its converter, which has gold-plated metal parts, and a cartridge. It will be delivered to you in a beautiful wooden box, set on a red velvet cloth.
