This pen case cannot accommodate large size fountain pens. Although it can accommodate the vast majority of other fountain pens, we recommend that you always compare the length and the diameter of your fountain pen with that of the case. For diameter, please consider the largest part of the pen (usually the cap but it can be the barrel as well).

First of all, a distinction should be made between Japanese and European/American nibs. For the same line thickness given by the manufacturers (F for example), Japanese nibs will be finer than European/American nibs. So an F (fine) nib from Sailor (Japanese nib) will correspond to an EF (extra-fine) nib from Jowo (German nib).

MS (Music): Stub nib with two slots (except for Sailor), the nib parts of which open out sharply depending on the pressure exerted to allow a greater flow of ink. The result is greater fluidity and wetter writing. In addition to its extreme flexibility, with vertical strokes thicker than horizontal ones, this nib is ideal for calligraphy.

IT (Italic): this has the same characteristics as the Stub, but its flattened tip and angular ends mean it is less flexible when writing. It is used for calligraphy. However, it is less convenient for everyday writing. It is advisable not to write too quickly so as not to tear the paper. The “cursive italic” variant has the edges of its point slightly rounded (although not as much as the Stub) to avoid this problem.
