First created in 1963 after 6 years of fabulous engineering, the Pilot Capless continues to make its mark both with its original design and its ingenious, time-tested technology. The complex precision mechanism with which it is equipped and which allows the nib to extend and retract is undoubtedly not unrelated to its immense success.

Without a cap – hence the name – and with a push button, it can be operated with one hand. A first press and the nib is revealed, a second and it disappears inside the body, activating at the same time a tiny shutter which, by closing, protects it from any impurity and prevents it from drying out.

Made of steel and covered with birch wood, it shows the characteristic wood grain of the tree and has a very pleasant feel. The body is made up of two parts, both of which are decorated with a thin ring and joined together by a metal screw thread. A larger ring at the end of the fountain pen foreshadows the push button. Its unmistakable clip is located on the grip and tapers towards the nib so that it can be held without any difficulty.

The Capless Wooden is available in 2 colours – black, red – and is equipped with stainless steel trims.

The nib:

Its nib, Japanese and made of 18-carat gold or rhodium-plated, is elegantly slim, which accentuates the aesthetics of the Capless Wooden. It is available in three sizes: F, M and B.

To fill the fountain pen, simply unscrew the body part at the ring to reveal the converter attached to the fountain pen. The converter can also be replaced by a cartridge.
