The craftsmen of this Japanese brand specialise in writing performance and use traditional techniques that they have inherited. Many decades ago, Mr Nobuyoshi Nagahara created special nibs: Naginata nibs. The name was chosen in reference to the Naginata swords, and the nibs of the same name were nicknamed “sword nibs” because of their shape. Today, after being first succeeded by his son Yukio, it is the Nib Masters trained by Mr Nagahara who create these veritable masterpieces.
Naginata’s special nibs allow you to change the line thickness depending on how you hold your fountain pen. The Naginata Fude de Mannen has the tip of its tine curved upwards. This feature allows you to write fine or broad lines by varying the angle of the fountain pen and nib.
The 1911L Naginata Fude de Mannen is made of resin and its trims are gold-plated. Its central ring is superbly crafted and partly covered in black ionic plating (IP coating).
Sailor has equipped its creation with a 21-carat gold nib.
