The company was founded in 1911, making it one of the oldest Italian brands of writing instruments – perhaps even the very first.
In that year, founder Umberto Vecchietti chose the Neptune fountain in Bologna’s Piazza Maggiore as his symbol. He used it as the visual heart of an advertising leaflet, establishing a strong link between Italian tradition and elegant craftsmanship.
Thanks to this early origin, Nettuno proudly claims its status as the oldest Italian fountain pen manufacturer.
Since January 2018, Maiora Pen Company, based in Naples, has been manufacturing Nettuno 1911 writing instruments. It continues the heritage with exacting standards and passion.
