The journey of the Atelier De Laforêt brand is one of free-spirited designers who are passionate about using technique to bring ideas to life.
The story begins in 1976 when Christian and Dominique Débat decided to combine their talents in a joint venture. They founded Atelier De Laforêt, a small workshop located in a village in the Northern Vosges, in the heart of the Regional Nature Park. The name was naturally inspired by the large forest surrounding this Alsatian location.
In 1990, they chose a place steeped in history to open their shop.
They set up shop in the former medieval watchtower in the tourist village of La Petite Pierre.
After more than twenty years of experience in leather goods, they launched a line of office accessories in 1998. This collection quickly expanded to include writing instruments and then home accessories. This is how the De Laforêt brand was officially born.

When Dominique Débat passed away in 2018, Noémie Meyer, who had been working for the company for around fifteen years, was given increasing responsibilities before taking over as manager in 2022. Driven by a deep attachment to the profession, she is committed to keeping alive and passing on the expertise that has been patiently taught to her.
