The expert’s opinion: the Tamitio embodies a resolutely contemporary vision of writing. I was immediately won over by its perfect proportions and the controlled simplicity of its design. Its ribbed barrel feels particularly pleasant to the touch, almost alive beneath the fingers. Crafted from metal, it has a distinct presence in the hand, whilst maintaining a perfectly harmonious balance. The whole is designed with a genuine attention to quality detail, right down to the all-metal threads, including those in the pen’s barrel. The cap is superb. Its meticulous finish is enhanced by an elegant inlay, whilst its articulated clip, supple and precise, reinforces the impression of technical refinement. The grip section, which is more compact, surprised me when I first used it. My fingers tended to slip back at first, but quickly found their place. With use, I even find myself instinctively positioning them on the grip, such is the natural and obvious ergonomics. Finally, the steel nib proves to be very pleasant. It offers a slight supplness that complements the writing motion and provides a fluid, comfortable and controlled writing experience. The Tamitio is definitely among the greats.

The Tamitio fountain pen is crafted from lacquered metal. Sleek and refined, it stands out for its fine lines (known as ‘fluted’) and its masterful balance, which give it a discreet yet assertive presence.
The collection is available in a variety of colours. The Tamitio Black is a deep black, adorned with chrome-plated trims: the barrel, shortened to echo the upper section — itself made of steel — and the famous cap with its articulated clip, which contributes to the brand’s reputation. Note the superb decorative finial adorning the top of the cap.
The fountain pen is filled using its converter or by inserting a cartridge into the section.
Graf von Faber-Castell has equipped its Tamitio with a rhodium-plated stainless steel nib, superbly engraved notably with its logo, and offer it to you in sizes EF, F, M and B.
