With the Paolo & Francesca edition, Visconti pays tribute to one of the most celebrated love stories in Italian literature. Immortalized by Dante in The Divine Comedy, Paolo and Francesca were two tragic lovers whose forbidden passion led them to a fateful end. Condemned to wander together through the second circle of Hell, they nevertheless remain united for eternity, symbolizing a love stronger than reason, time, and even death.
This edition transforms their story into a writing instrument rich in symbolism. The shades of red and blue, representing Francesca and Paolo respectively, blend into a deep purple that evokes their eternal union. Their names, bearing a stylized engraving on the central ring, serve as a reminder of the unbreakable bond that ties them together. Through this creation, Visconti celebrates love in its most absolute form: a passion capable of transcending the centuries and defying destiny.
Magnificent gold-plated brass trims enhance the fountain pen’s refined appearance. First, the clip: in addition to its spring-loaded design, it features the brand name, finely laser engraved. Next comes the elegantly enameled central ring, beautifully crafted and exquisitely detailed. Finally, a finial adorns the top of the barrel, while the cap finial, also enhanced with enamel, proudly displays the Visconti logo.
The serial number is engraved on the top of the cap, marking this edition as one of only 999 pieces worldwide, a number that echoes the sacred symbolism of the numbers three and nine, which are omnipresent throughout Dante’s Divine Comedy.
