With the Gladiator, part of the Roma Aeterna (Eternal Rome) collection, Delta pays tribute to ancient Rome and the legendary figure of the gladiator. This fountain pen evokes strength, courage and determination. The Neapolitan brand creates the pen in the Maiora workshops, where it continues the Italian tradition of artisanal craftsmanship, combining elegant lines with meticulous finishing.

For this model, Delta chose an exceptional artistic resin created by Jonathon Brooks, founder of Carolina Pen Company. Its shades of red and delicate sand-coloured veins evoke imperial purple (the dye used in Antiquity), the standards of the Roman legions and the travertine stone of the Colosseum. Each block of resin reveals a unique pattern, while variations in colour and veining make every Gladiator one of a kind. Its harmonious proportions and meticulous detailing reflect the excellence of Italian craftsmanship.

The motif created by the designers gives the top of the cap the appearance of a gladiator’s helmet. On the barrel, a wide ring features an engraved scene depicting several gladiators in combat, paying tribute to the fighters of ancient Rome who faced one another in spectacles where their lives were constantly at stake. Delta drew inspiration from the famous Gladiator Mosaic, preserved at the Galleria Borghese in Rome. All the fountain pen’s trims are gold-plated.

The red ink reservoir comes in resin and has a slight translucency, allowing you to see the ink level. Its cap is made of stainless steel, while an O-ring provides a perfect seal. The Neapolitan brand has patented this invention, which combines aesthetic appeal with clever functionality.

Delta has equipped this model with a gold-plated stainless steel No. 6 nib, beautifully engraved with the image of a gladiator’s helmet. The brand offers it in sizes EF, F, M, B, Stub 1.1 as well as in its flexible version in sizes EF and F.
