1911 Sterling Silver 925 fountain pen by Sailor – an stunning fountain pen for a smooth writing 

This is a stunningly aesthetic model from the Japanese brand. Made entirely from solid silver, the 1911 Sterling Silver 925 has been meticulously polished to give the precious metal a smooth, dazzling finish. Only the thread at the bottom of the body on which the cap is screwed is made of black resin. This judicious choice by Sailor adds a pleasant touch to the fountain pen while enhancing its natural elegance.

The words “Sterling Silver 925” have been engraved on the bottom of the cap, and the guarantee stamp can be found at the top of the barrel, as well as a second one on the cap. The trims are gold-plated with an ionic coating that lightens the yellow colour of the gold. In addition to fine rings here and there and a clip, this superb engraved central ring is particularly noteworthy.

The nib

Sailor has equipped this model with an ion-coated 21-carat gold nib. It is currently available in seven sizes: EF, F, MF, M, B, MS (equivalent to Stub 1.1) and Z. The Z (Zoom) nib is available to order only. It has a spherical tip, making it suitable for left-handed overwriters (when writing, they “push” the fountain pen, whereas left-handed underwriters and right-handed writers “pull” it). Note that the line of the Zoom fountain pen is thick.
