Following the success of the first Kaga series, Sailor returns with twelve new colours. Made of ebonite, the fountain pen is coated with precious urushi lacquer. Teal in colour (referring to the name given to certain ducks and which have blue-green plumage), the King of Pens features gold-plated trims. Like all KOPs, the threading on the section resembles a magnificent gold-plated timepiece. It also has two small windows so you can see how much ink is left and know when it’s time to refill your fountain pen.

The sumptuous urushi lacquer :

Lacquer has an incredible ability to resist corrosion, scratches and even impacts. This type of fountain pen therefore has an exceptionally long lifespan, easily lasting for several generations. The colour of this lacquer varies depending on its exposure to light, creating incomparable shades, shine and brilliance. The master lacquerer will apply 12 layers, each of which requires a drying time that can vary from 3 to 7 days. Manufacturing this fountain pen will therefore take many weeks, not to mention meticulous finishing work, to achieve such a result.

The nib:

The two-tone nib is exceptional in its imposing size, both in terms of its length, measuring 26 mm, and its width, which exceeds one centimetre (11 mm). Made of 21-carat gold, it is also plated with rhodium and 24-carat gold. The nib is available in M and B.
