3776 Century Chartres Blue Fountain pen by Platinum – a bright colour for a fabulous model
The 3776 Century fountain pen is a revisited version of the famous 3776 from the Japanese brand (created in 1978). This name was chosen as a tribute to Mount Fuji, the highest point in Japan at 3776m. This improved version was created in 2011. The great novelty is its revolutionary and completely innovative “Slip & Seal” system: the inside of the cap is fitted with a spring linked to an internal plastic cap that provides a perfect airtight seal. This patented system prevents the ink from evaporating and the nib from drying out for up to two years without the fountain pen being used.
A member of the demonstrator family and made of resin, the translucent 3776 Century Chartres blue is a brilliant blue colour that will be even more luminous when the light caresses it. Platinum wanted to pay tribute to the famous stained glass windows of the majestic Notre-Dame Cathedral in the famous French city whose blue colour – bleu de Chartres – is known throughout the world.
The trims of the fountain pen are gold-plated, more precisely the rings are gold-plated on a brass base and the clip is gold-plated on a beryllium copper base. They adorn the fountain pen beautifully, including the superb central band engraved with the brand’s name, “3776 Century” and the words “made in Japan”. Note that the threaded section is made of metal, a sign of the brand’s seriousness.
The nib:
The nib is made of 14-carat gold and is beautifully engraved with, among others, an illustration of Mount Fuji. Note that the breathing hole is heart-shaped at Platinum. The nib is available in seven sizes: UEF, EF, F, SF, M, B et MS (equivalent to the Stub 1.1 nib).
The 3776 Century Chartres Blue fountain pen by Platinum is supplied with its converter – whose metal parts are gold-plated – as well as a cartridge and will be delivered in a lovely navy blue box.

La beauté de la simplicité et de la sobriété. Une plume de rêve, large et très précise , avec une glisse sans accroc, fine pour ceux qui comme moi écrivent tout petit. Les pattes de mouches deviennent très lisibles avec une grande clarté, sans débordement de l’une sur l’autre et le bleu de Chartres mûrit les pensées dans la recherche du mot juste. Ecrire avec ce stylo plume cisèle les mots, apporte une nouvelle respiration et les embruns prennent une saveur très subtile.
Comme c’est joliment dit… Un magnifique stylo-plume pour un poète :)

Très bon produit, la plume B a une très bonne glisse et est très agréable, le débit est régulier. Le stylo est léger et a un bon équilibre. Un très bon stylo-plume pour le quotidien. Belle couleur bleu
