3776 Century Fuji Unkei Kasumi Fountain pen by Platinum – a limited edition of 3,000 worldwide

In 2023, the Japanese brand created the “Fuji Unkei” series, using a variety of decorative methods inspired by the landscape of Mount Fuji and the surrounding clouds. The 3776 Century Kasumi is its second creation. Kasumi reflects the undulation of fine water droplets that spread through the air, blurring the sky and the landscape.

Platinum has reproduced this Kasumi motif (Kasumi-Mon in Japanese), which has been found on picture scrolls and screens since Antiquity, on the body of the fountain pen. The small interconnected circular indentations give the impression of an undulating mist and add shine to the transparent resin.

The translucent green colour of the cap and section was chosen in reference to the greenery to be found at the foot of Mount Fuji through the mist. Inside the top of the cap, the nut honours Mount Fuji and is the signature of the Fuji series. Limited to 3,000 pieces, the Kasumi’s serial number has been engraved on the cap.

The Kasumi’s rings, including the cap’s beautifully engraved centre ring, are rhodium-plated on brass, and the clip is made of rhodium-plated stainless steel.

The 3776 Century Kasumi features the revolutionary “Slip & Seal” system: the inside of the cap is fitted with a spring linked to an internal plastic cap that provides a perfect airtight seal. This patented system prevents the ink from evaporating and the nib from drying out for up to 2 years without the fountain pen being used.

The Japanese brand has equipped its model with a rhodium-plated 14-carat gold nib and offers it in three sizes: extra-fine, fine and medium.

You will receive your 3776 Century Fuji Unkei Kasumi fountain pen by Platinum in a beautiful box decorated with an image of “Kasumi”, accompanied by its converter with chrome-plated metal parts, a blue-black cartridge and a magnificent 20ml bottle of ink. The ink colour, called ‘Fuji-No-Akatsuki’, was created for the occasion: Platinum was inspired by the panoramic purplish view of Mount Fuji at dawn. Depending on the lighting and the orientation of the ink to the light, you can see a deep green reflection that reflects the way the surrounding trees gradually change colour as the sun rises. In addition, the cap of the ink bottle features a three-dimensional illustration of the Mount Fuji motif with clouds.
