Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics by highlighting their cracks with gold. Rather than concealing the marks of time, it enhances them and gives them new meaning. Far more than a restoration technique, it embodies a philosophy rooted in resilience and transformation: every challenge enriches an object’s story and contributes to its uniqueness. The birth of Capless:

First created in 1963 after 6 years of fabulous engineering, the Pilot Capless continues to make its mark both with its original design and its ingenious, time-tested technology. The complex precision mechanism with which it is equipped and which allows the nib to extend and retract is undoubtedly not unrelated to its immense success.

Without a cap – hence the name – and with a push button, it can be operated with one hand. A first press and the nib is revealed, a second and it disappears inside the body, activating at the same time a tiny shutter which, by closing, protects it from any impurity and prevents it from drying out.

To fill the fountain pen, simply unscrew the body part at the ring to reveal the converter attached to the fountain pen. The converter can also be replaced by a cartridge.

The fountain pen is made with brass and features gold-plated stainless steel trims.

Its nib made of 18-carat gold is elegantly slim, which accentuates the aesthetics of the Capless. We offer it in sizes F, M, B.
