Visconti reinvents its iconic model and offers a bold vision of demonstrator design. This limited edition reveals the technical and aesthetic soul of the fountain pen, with every detail designed to combine elegance and performance. Crafted in transparent acrylic resin, the body reveals the internal mechanism, sublimated by gold-plated bronze trims and touches of deep blue on various internal parts, including the gaskets and the cylinder housing the nib and feed tube. All internal metal parts are made of gold-plated brass.

Double Power Filler tank

The Homo Sapiens Full Demo features a vacuum filling system with a double “Power Filler” reservoir. Patented by Visconti in 1998, this mechanism fills the two communicating tanks with ink, but also isolates them from each other. So you can take your fountain pen on a plane without any risk of ink leaks. They hold an impressive 3.6 ml of ink.

To fill the fountain pen, unscrew and pull the knob at the top of the barrel: the titanium plunger extends from the reservoir to its stop (seal). Next, dip the fountain pen into the ink bottle and perform the reverse operation, pushing the piston back into the barrel (before screwing the knob back in). This is when the air-ink exchange takes place and the reservoirs fill (3/4 full).

The cap is closed using the Visconti hook safety system, known as the ‘gag system’. A slight twisting motion is all it takes to close the fountain pen, while you open it by pushing the cap down and twisting it slightly.

Visconti has adorned the cap with two rings and its famous laser-engraved articulated clasp. A finial with the brand’s logo at the top completes the look. The model number is engraved on the top of the body.

The nib

Visconti has equipped its creation with an original 14-carat gold flexible nib (Soft touch), with a skeletonised design inspired by the art of filigree. This unique nib, engraved with the name of the Florentine brand, offers flexibility and elasticity for dynamic, fluid writing. Depending on the pressure exerted when writing, you can switch between line thicknesses F and M. With its openwork design, you can admire the blue feeder on which it rests.
