The expert’s opinion: the way the resin has been processed gives the 3776 Century Nice Lavender a beautiful effect: when you turn the fountain pen in your hands, the streaks seem to play with the light of day. Add to that the splendour of the violet colour, and the model is simply sublime. Although it lacks the usual softness of resin, it is surprisingly pleasant to the touch. The soft, 14-carat gold nib is simply extraordinary. It glides with such evidence over the paper and writes so smoothly that there’s no need to tame it. A transparent fountain pen from the demonstrator family, the 3776 Century Nice Lavande was created as a tribute to the town on the Côte d’Azur in France and the lavender fields found in the hinterland of Nice. The resin of which it is made has a frosted appearance and is adorned with shiny streaks all along its length. This combination evokes the contrast between subdued light and sparkling water.
To achieve this result, the brand applied a sandblast finish. This is a process that creates asperities on the surface, resulting in an opaque glass image. The grooves were then cut at precise angles to create a sharper cut, which, depending on the angle at which it was cut, alters the sparkle of the light.
The fountain pen’s trims are plated in rose gold. They adorn the fountain pen beautifully, including the superb central ring engraved with the model name, the brand name and the words “made in Japan”. The threaded section is made of metal, a sign of the brand’s reliability. The nib is made of 14-carat rose-gold-plated gold
The 3776 Century Nice Lavender features the revolutionary ‘Slip & Seal’ system: inside the cap is a spring linked to an internal plastic cap that provides a perfect airtight seal. This patented system prevents the ink from evaporating and the nib from drying out for up to 2 years without the fountain pen being used.
The nib is made of 14-carat gold, with a rose gold plating, and is beautifully engraved, notably with an illustration of Mount Fuji (which rises to 3776 meters). Its breather hole is heart-shaped at Platinum. The fountain pen is available in three sizes: F, M and B.

Concernant le stylo-plume, ce fut un véritable coup de foudre, et la réalité n’a pas déçu. Le stylo est très beau et tient parfaitement en main. Sa couleur et ses finitions le rendent unique, et lorsque l’on écrit, les reflets de lumière qui traversent le corps transparent lui donnent presque vie. La plume est souple et offre une écriture fluide et continue, sans accrocher ni se bloquer sur le papier. J’aime énormément ce stylo.
