The expert’s opinion: to say that the Yogaszumi is a marvel is an understatement. The pleasure of the eyes first because we are immediately seduced by its elegance and the depth of its color. The cap ring has an unmistakable design that collectors and other connoisseurs of the brand will have recognized: it can be found on the 110th Anniversary Shirogane and Kurogane fountain pens. As for the Yogaszumi’s touch, it is very pleasant and we are amazed by the two ebonite finishes. The metal thread of the section confirms once again the seriousness of the brand and its small window is reminiscent of the King of Pens. Note that this large size model is also of a consequent weight: it will thus be rather intended for men. The Yogaszumi Night Haze is an exceptional ebonite fountain pen with a beautiful, long line. Its elegance also lies in the contrast between the barrel and cap on one side and their ends on the other. The former are made of granular ebonite and the latter of smooth ebonite, also matching the section for a perfect harmony when the fountain pen is opened. This difference, which is also very pleasant to the touch, makes the raw part seem lighter, even tending towards anthracite. Night Haze… it is fair to say that the model lives up to its name.
Sailor adorned the Yogaszumi with yellow gold metal trims, including the beautiful engraved ring at the top of the cap. In addition to its extraordinary aesthetics, it will keep the Yogaszumi from rolling off the desk, as the latter has no clip. The beautiful central ring at the bottom of the body is reminiscent of the Wajima Ake-Bononuri model. Note also this small detail wanted by the Japanese brand: when the fountain pen is closed, a part of this ring remains visible. The section has a metal thread that has a small opening to appreciate the remaining ink level.
Sailor has equipped its Yogaszumi with a 21-karat gold with ion plating nib, beautifully engraved with the brand’s logo among other things, and offers it to you in three sizes: F, M and B.
