Professional Gear Slim Kimono Happiness Fountain pen by Sailor – Limited edition
The kimono is Japan’s traditional costume. The Japanese wear them for traditional festivals and important events. They are decorated with a variety of motifs, including traditional floral designs and geometric patterns. They also feature scenes from nature, imprinted with wishes and other greetings.
Sailor has created the Kimono collection for the occasion. It consists of four fountain pens, each bearing the name of a wish. Created using the maki-e technique (“maki” meaning “to sprinkle” and “e” meaning “drawing”), the Happiness is illustrated with a kimono motif. The body of the pen represents a kimono collar and the cap, the drawing symbolising happiness.
Made from white resin, the Pro Gear Kimono Happiness is adorned with fine gold-plated rings (with an ionised coating to soften the yellow colour) on the barrel and cap, as well as a central ring engraved with the name of the brand and the year it was created. At the top of the cap, Sailor has swapped its logo for the auspicious design echoing the cap.
In 14-carat gold with an ionised coating (IP) and beautifully engraved, the nib is available in three sizes: F, MF and M.
