The “sword nibs”:

Many decades ago, Mr Nobuyoshi Nagahara created a series of extraordinary nibs known as the Naginata nibs. Their name pays tribute to the traditional Japanese naginata polearm, while their distinctive shape earned them the nickname “sword nibs.” Following his pioneering work, his son Yukio Nagahara continued this remarkable legacy. Today, the tradition lives on through the Master Nib Craftsmen trained by Mr Nagahara.

The Naginata Togi nib features an elongated, rounded tipping that allows the line width to vary naturally according to the writing angle. Held upright at approximately 90°, it produces a fine, precise line. At the more conventional angle of 45°, the stroke becomes broader, while lowering the pen to around 30° results in an even wider, more expressive line. This unique characteristic offers exceptional versatility and an exceptionally smooth writing experience.

Crafted from ebonite, the fountain pen is enhanced by elegant 24-carat gold-plated trims. Free from any cap band, the King of Pens preserves the purity of its elegant silhouette.

Unscrewing the barrel reveals far more than a simple threaded connector for the cartridge or converter. Instead, one discovers an impressively engineered filling assembly, every bit as remarkable as the nib itself. The upper part of the gripping section extends over more than 30 mm, immediately conveying both technical sophistication and meticulous craftsmanship. Two discreet vertical viewing windows, positioned on either side of the assembly, allow the ink level in the converter to be checked at a glance.

The nib:

Its nib is exceptional in its imposing length (26 mm) and width (11 mm). Crafted from 21-carat gold, the nib is further enhanced with rhodium and 24-carat gold plating. It is available in NMF (N for Naginata), NM, and NB nib sizes.
