Many decades ago, Mr Nobuyoshi Nagahara created special nibs: Naginata nibs. The name was chosen in reference to the Naginata swords, and the nibs of the same name were nicknamed “sword nibs” because of their shape. Today, after being first succeeded by his son Yukio, it is the Nib Masters trained by Mr Nagahara who create these veritable masterpieces.
Naginata’s special nibs allow you to change the line thickness depending on how you hold your fountain pen. The Naginata Cross Point nib has a second gold nib on top. It will allow you to write thick lines when you hold your fountain pen in the classic position and fine lines (equivalent to those of the Sailor M nib) in the inverted position. It’s also a particularly smooth nib, whatever position you use it in.
The 1911L Naginata Cross Point is made of resin and its trims are gold-plated. Its central ring is superbly crafted and partly covered in black ionic plating (IP coating).
Sailor has equipped its creation with a 21-carat gold nib.
