Souverän M800 Cream Blue fountain pen by Pelikan – a beautiful limited edition

The M400 was first produced in 1950. In the 1980s, Pelikan gave it the name Souverän, even though the Germans already called it the ‘Stresemann’, after the Secretary of State of the Weimar Republic, who was known for his striped suits. Following its success, the brand decided to make it available in different sizes, of which the M800 is twice the size.

For this limited edition, the German brand has swapped its famous stripes for a plain shade of bewitching blue. Pelikan has combined this translucent resin with a superb cream colour for the section, cap and upper body, also made from high-quality turned resin. Careful polishing of the fountain pen gives it its full lustre.

The various rings, the top of the cap and the clip are plated with 24-carat gold. Other elegant details include the finial featuring the famous bird at the top of the cap and the magnificent clip in the shape of a pelican’s beak. The fountain pen is filled by an integrated piston. An illustration of Pelikan’s fabulous workmanship: each fountain pen is assembled by hand.

The nib :

The brand has equipped its M800 with a magnificent two-tone nib in partially rhodium-plated 18-carat gold, adorned with its logo. It is available in four sizes: EF, F, M and B.
